What is Krugerrand?

A Kruger coin is an exclusive gold coin which was first minted in 1967 to market South African gold. This proudly South African coin which consist of 22 carat gold comes in four different sizes and weights. The name is compound of Paul Kruger the first South African president of the Transvaal, the reverse depicts a springbok the national animal of South Africa. It has no face value; they are considered a legal tender by the South African Reserve Bank Act (SARBA) of 1989.Over 50 million ounces of Kruger Rand coins have been sold since production started since 1967.
